This was just an invitation that I made for a customer holding a benefit for supporting the local Synagogue.
Roger Salloom is one of the more popular musicians in the Western Massachusetts area and has become one of the pillars in the live-music scene. This concert was pretty successful, with artists such as Charles Neville, Evelyn Harris, Khalif Neville, Johnny Joelson and more.
I am proud to share this logo, as it was facilitated by two of my interns... Brian and Erick from the Paulo Freire Social Justice Charter School in Holyoke, MA. They made the illustrations of the adorable cat and dog, and helped make decisions for the rest of the logo and this is what we came up with! And of course, the client was in LOVE with it.
Barbara is a very professional, experienced and fantastic interior designer, and she wanted a logo/business card/stationary/envelope/kitchen sink that reflected that. She was very involved with the design, as she gave me a sample of fabric (her favorite) which I used to create her graphic. The result was, well... fabulous. Check out her other stuff here.
This project was very near and dear to my heart. As you know, heroin and opioid abuse is a plague ravaging the country. It has had its roots dug deep into Western Mass for a while now, and you probably know someone suffering from it. I have some friends who are suffering and some friends who lost their battle. The Northwest District Attorney's office wanted to create a logo that creates comfort and hope in a world where flash gets results. This is being used across Western Mass and you'll probably see it on the wall at your next doctors visit.
This file was actually a banner that was printed about 6feet long, but you can see the logo pretty nicely! Christine is a SUPER talented artist, who works almost entirely in mosaic. She told me she often looks through junk to find potential mosaic, but what comes out is absolutely beautiful. (Check her stuff out too!) This logo is pretty self explanatory, but in case you don't want to expand it, it features a mosaic tiling to make up her name. The mosaic tiling came from one of her pieces, which I went over and created each tile so it could be used in the logo. Results are perfect.
John Natale Jr. was a good friend and fraternity brother during my time in college. He grew up in a family of real estate agents and worked very hard to start his own career in real estate. The least I could do for a brother in need? Give him a mega-professional looking logo. It works for him and that works for me.
This logo was created for a new store that specializes in furniture, hand-made rugs, and various other home furnishings. The butterfly/leaf icon was inspired by some artwork from the client's friends, but I was more than happy to make that a reality.
This logo was made for a website that I created for Stephen Page, a local piano player. He specializes in jazz music and you can see my design on his website at www.stephenpagepiano.com
You can see the other stuff I did for him here.
Jake's restaurant in Northampton, MA has been a staple in the community for a very long time. They had gone through a somewhat recent ownership change, and with that, Jake's has been on the rise. One of the things they wanted to do was to create their own catering business. I gave them a new logo based off their current, home-made chic style (including the circular icon to the left) as well as some matching business cards.
Mmmmmm....
This logo went through around 20 iterations to get to where it is here. Of course we tried to use rocks/stone texture to build the letters, but it just didn't really work out. I guess it doesn't matter, since it worked for the better.
Mediterranean Living is a local health and lifestyle company, aimed at promoting smart eating/drinking habits and manageable exercise... whatever it takes to keep your mind and body at peak performance. Of course, eating like the Greeks doesn't hurt the appeal.

Small brand is a term that I use to describe what I do for a brand. This includes typography, colors, imagery and layouts. A true brand would include language, message and everything else.
Alison Plummer approached me about creating business cards and a variety of other handouts/flyers for her painting business. She was local and had a small business in a rural area. She hadn't expected anything like this, but she sure loved it when I showed it to her for the first time!
I created this logo and small-brand for a local contractor who specializes in energy efficiency. He made a few very successful campaigns pushing Massachusetts' energy efficient program where he launched his customer base off of the discounts that the state was offering. Very intelligent indeed. A year after I created these materials, he sold the busine$$ and retired.
This was a SUPER fun project and really reminded me why I do what I do. The client owns a small bed and breakfast in the heart of the Smith College area of Northampton, MA. She expressed her needs for a new sign and brochure and had planned on just printing the Word document that she had brought in. The brochure included some local hot spots and activities in walking distance. I decided to take it into my own hands and created a classy looking logo as well as transforming her idea into including restaurants, hot spots/clubs, food delivery, bars, taxis and transportation as well as a map of the area. It was hugely successful.
Using the same "small-brand" guidelines, I re-made their house rules poster as well.
This project was AWESOME to work on. The airport was in dire need of a new, spiffy looking gift certificate since the only thing they had "branded" was their logo. I took the idea of a gift certificate with companion brochure and created something truly awesome. There is an oddly sizedbrochure, printed on card stock. There are three different gift certificates, and whatever one that needs to be used can be placed in slits on the last panel. Check out the picture!
This was a very simple project, which required a high quality design and bright colors to capture the attention of potential buyers. They were ecstatic over the final results.
This was the first version. I had thought it was getting printed in black and white, hence the grayscale, but after they explained the importance of color and contrast, we got the final version.
This was a very special project. I worked with a crew of avid rock climbers, who (now, I'm not sure of the terminology,) participated and organized climbing competitions. These competitions did not take place on actual rock cliffs, but rather complex climbing walls. This sport is called "bouldering" which isn't something most people would recognize, and they were trying to change that. I helped create a book of essentially ALL infographics to help present the idea to companies like Nike, Adidas, North Face, EMS, REI, etc. They are yet to reach their goal, but they sure did help create a beautiful book. These are just a couple pages from it.
